Position Summary
We are seeking a self-driven and passionate individual to join our solid-state thermal battery systems engineering team to deliver zero-carbon industrial heat and power. We are a tight-knit team that values building lifelong relationships with humility and openness while having an impact and loving what we do. You will collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to help deliver, operate, and maintain Antora’s custom R&D test rigs and low-volume production units. This work will directly contribute to the productization of a first of a kind long-duration energy storage.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate high power (hundreds of kW to MW), high temperature (~2000C) R&D test rigs
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, and advanced development teams to design, implement, and operate high-value prototype rigs, fixtures, instrumentation, and other setups needed to support Antora’s testing needs
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and help implement appropriate protocols
- Assist with specifying, calibrating, and maintaining required testing instrumentation/sensors
- Assist with data recording and analysis and help establish best practices for test data and reports
- Be a jack of all trades - mechanical design, controls, electrical, instrumentation, programming, etc. to enable fast, high frequency testing cycles
- Work with a high degree of autonomy while being open and willing to deliver and receive feedback
Key Qualifications
- BS degree in engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years as a test engineer for an industrial system (energy, power, rockets, etc.) in a fast moving environment with exposure to a wide array of subsystems (fluids, thermal, electrical etc.) and instrumentation (TC/RTD, load gauges, flow meters, etc).
- 2+ years experience with common communication industrial communication protocols (SCADA, Modbus, HART, TCP/IP, CAN, etc.)
- Experience with engineering fundamentals (thermal, fluids, structural) to make quick design decisions
- Comfortable with hand tools (drills, saws, torque wrench, etc.)
- Experience working with engineering teams to root cause failures
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Self-driven and strong written and verbal cross-functional communication skills
- Comfortable providing and receiving directions and feedback from other engineers and technicians
Additional Qualifications Desired
- Familiarity with high-power and high-temperature systems
- Willingness to be on-call for overnight and weekend testing
- Experience with fluidic and thermal systems, Solidworks, and data post-processing
Salary Range: $120,000 USD - $140,000 USD
Salary Basis: Annual

The actual salary offered will be determined within the posted range based on a candidate's experience, credentials, and expertise as they pertain to the requirements of the position.
