Position Overview
The Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for leveraging data-driven insights to provide expert advice and inform strategic decision-making in the sales and operations of photovoltaic (PV) modules and systems. Reporting directly to the Head of Residential Business or another designated senior executive, this role is central to shaping both short-term and long-term business objectives for the U.S. market. The position is based out of our Irvine, California headquarters and requires up to 40% travel.
Responsibilities
- Assist in capitalizing on Hanwha Q CELLS America’s existing solar business to identify and manage:
- Leverage existing business networks and market research to inform executive leadership on market trends, Federal and State policies in renewable energy, and customer behavior.
- Establish and manage key performance indicators to guide both short-term and long-term business objectives for the US market.
- Utilize statistical models and analytical methodologies to create dashboards, infographics, and reports, advising leadership in data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations to develop effective demand forecasts, reconcile significant variances, and refine forecasting models based on updated assumptions.
- Provide input to Supply Planning to develop strategies around existing inventory, new product launches, and product phase-outs.
- Managing Sales and Operations data and extracting the insight
- Supporting Management decisions with internal and external research and analysis
- Hold regular meetings with the Sales organization and customers to align market demands with supply chain capabilities.
- Facilitate seamless communications with Hanwha Q CELLS global offices, including sales entities in the US and Canada, as well as manufacturing facilities in the US and Korea.
- Propose and implement strategies for enhancing demand forecast accuracy and operational effectiveness.
- Develop effective demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation
- Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing inventory, new products, and product phase-outs
- Closely coordinate and communicate action plans with Sales and Operations
- Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
- All other duties as assigned by the Head of Residential Business.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, statistics, or a related quantitative field is required.
- A minimum of 7-8 years of experience in Sales Planning or Business Analysis is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in analytical tools like Excel, Power BI, SQL, and Python is highly recommended.
- Strong acumen for analyzing market trends and adapting to competitive pressures.
- Ability to speak and write in Korean is an asset.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time is essential.
- Must be adept at external interactions, including executive presentations, negotiations, and contractual reviews.
- Must be comfortable interfacing outside the company, including executive presentations, negotiations, and contractual review
- Korean speaking and writing capability preferred
