Pendulum is recruiting for a Senior Android Engineer to build interfaces for enabling human-AI interaction. Your work will allow our users to be the 'experts in the loop.' Your interfaces will allow users to engage our AI and influence how crucial systems function. These systems will be a combination of mobile and wearable devices, as well as server-based deployments. You will structure and implement interfaces from start to finish that will allow decision makers to understand how our software makes decisions, to guide them to better understand the system at hand and to interact with the AI that is running on mobile or other low power devices. These systems will be used in the field to aid in decision-making and planning in the most difficult circumstances.

The Senior Android Engineer will collaborate with Program Management teams to understand business requirements and MLOps and ML team to understand technical requirements. You will further collaborate with your peers on the team to design and define the solution and implement it.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features for interfaces and backend.
• Collaborate with the Design and Product Manager teams to inform and satisfy expectations.
• Collaborate with Backend and Frontend engineers to align solutions, reach understanding and agreement.
• Follow best-practices for security, test coverage, and performance.
• Avoid technical debt, identify inefficiencies and propose improvements. ‍ # Experience
• 5 - 8 years’ experience in software engineering.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools and code collaboration platforms.
• Proficient understanding of Java, Kotlin, Android development.
• Rust experience or Interest a plus
• Experience or interest in performing Dev Ops
• Experience with mobile design
• Good experience with Java, Kotlin.
• Experience with ATAK a definite plus.
• Experience with working with sensors on Android devices.
• Experience with database technologies.
• Strong self-motivation and self-management.
