Security Engineer
We seek a Security Engineer to take broad ownership for delivering technologies and services to help employees stay productive, safe, and ISO 27001 compliant at our growing clean tech company.
The successful Security Engineer, reporting to the Sr. Director of Security and IT, will identify risks, drive mitigations and help LineVision achieve and maintain a security posture that exceeds industry standards. This person is ready to work hard, take on a challenge, and collaborate with a growing, mission-driven team.
What will you do?
Core Responsibilities and Key Performance Objectives
- Identify and evaluate risks and drive mitigations across the enterprise: including device, network, platform, and corporate systems
- Maintain existing security tooling, such as Vanta and TrendMicro
- Research and recommend security tooling and services to improve LineVision’s capabilities in areas such as Zero Trust and Security Incident and Event Management
- Conduct security controls required for ongoing ISO 27001 compliance and certification
- Implement improvements to security policies, standards and procedures
- Coordinate LineVision’s response to security events and lead incident response efforts
- Coordinate Penetration Tests and Vulnerability Scans; assess and drive remediations
- Respond to customer security requests for information, questionnaires and audits
Within Three Months:
- Lead monthly Security Risk Reviews with LineVision’s Security Team
- Achieve ISO 27001 certification for existing scope
Within Six Months:
- Conduct security gap analysis and a roadmap of mitigations required for achieving ISO 27001 certification for all of LineVision
- Recommend security criteria for LineVision’s next generation sensors
- Analyze SIEM requirements, assess alternatives and recommend a solution
Within a Year and Beyond:
- Assess and implement new tools or capabilities, such as Zscaler, DLP, PAM
- Achieve ISO 27001 certification for all of LineVision
What do you need to succeed in this role?
- Expertise with industry standard security frameworks such as NIST CSF, SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 27017 and security best practices such as the Zero Trust model
- Advanced knowledge of security engineering practices, as demonstrated through CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certifications. The successful candidate will commit to passing the CISSP certification exam within 18 months of start date.
- Superior technical skills across a range of technologies, including IoT, AWS, and SaaS solutions
- Empathic communication skills and ability to explain complex technical issues with a range of audiences, such as engineers, executives, vendors and customers
