Electric vehicle sales are rising - over half of new cars sold as of 2030 globally are predicted to be electric. But one of the most challenging elements of owning an electric vehicle is its charging and that’s where we come in.
We set up in 2018 to make EV charging simple, green and low cost for drivers, to encourage EV adoption and reduce carbon emissions from transport. Core to our platform is a proprietary smart-charging algorithm, dynamically aligning charging with intermittent low-carbon electricity, reducing carbon emissions from grid electricity by as much as 70%. We've so far secured over 13 million USD in funding, have over 100k drivers using our app, and were named 'Best Energy Startup in the World' when we won the Free Electrons programme.
To achieve all of this, we gathered a great team bringing expertise from their previous roles at National Grid, Bulb, BBOX, Powervault, BCG, Starling, and more. We're now over 70 people working fully remotely across Europe and North America, and pride ourselves on our inclusive and collaborative culture.
We're aiming to have over a million drivers using our product, and we're looking for even more talented and passionate folk to join our mission.
The role
We're expanding across the globe, and we want to integrate with more charger types out there - as many as we possibly can, to better aid our drivers and bring new drivers onto our platform. We would love to hire a driven Project Manager who can work equally well alongside commercial and engineering teams, helping the team by removing blockers and identifying priorities, and implementing metrics to better streamline the development of integrations going forward.
What will you be doing?
- Taking ownership of a pipeline of integrations between ev.energy and different charging manufacturers, from small start-up charger manufacturers to large technical hardware companies
- Ensuring this pipeline is well managed - implementing KPIs and metrics for the team to better streamline development and deployment of new integrations (measuring time to integrate, reliability, accuracy, etc)
- Working closely with a team of software engineers and lab technicians to ensure the team is well motivated and free of blockers, enabled to do their best possible work
- Consistently pushing forward - taking ownership, ensuring everyone is on the same page, making sure deadlines, problems and opportunities are transparent and well communicated
- Conducting workshops with charging partners to gather feedback, seek improvements, and ensure a great experience throughout
What are we looking for?
- Project management experience - you’ll have ideally worked in a similar environment overseeing numerous integration projects, and know how to influence, persist and push to keep driving things forward
- Previous experience or interest in the EV charging sector would be helpful but not essential - more important will be your attitude and ability to pick up technical concepts
- Excellent organisational skills and drive, as well as empathy - you’ll persevere and jostle things forward, but also understand the needs of the team and help them prioritise
- A data-driven approach and comfort in building out KPIs and metrics, having implemented these in a previous company to streamline processes and maximise efficiency
- An appreciation for the commercial needs of the company, and how this role will make a huge impact here; you’ll be equally comfortable communicating with salespeople as you will with engineers
How will we support you?
- Remote working, investing in your home office setup or a co-working location convenient for you
- Access to conferences, meet-ups and training
- A top of the range Macbook Pro and all you need to do your best work
- A structured career progression framework and advancement opportunities
- Paid parental leave
- Generous equity, with options to earn more shares as you progress
- Quarterly team meet-ups, to collaborate and have fun in person!
If you don’t have all of the requirements, but you’re really interested in what we’re doing, please apply anyway! We’d love to hear from you and may be able to tailor the role around your abilities and experience. We value applicants regardless of their background or years of experience.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
We are transparent about salaries internally - this role pays 57,000 - 75,000 GBP (or local currency equivalent) per year, depending on experience, plus generous equity options and other benefits.
