Project Engineer

The company is focused on hydrogen-electric propulsion solutions to address a variety of markets, initially targeting a 300-mile range in 9–19 seat aircraft by 2025, and up to a 700-mile range in 40–80 seat aircraft by 2027. Based in the UK and USA, ZeroAvia has passed significant flight test milestones, secured a number of key partnerships with major aircraft OEMs and major global airlines, and is on track for commercial operations in 2025. ZeroAvia’s powertrain development focuses on integrating hydrogen storage tanks, fuel cell systems, and electric motors, delivering a solution that will be not only without climate-impacting emissions but also cheaper to operate. The company’s hydrogen infrastructure team is seeking to deliver the hydrogen production and refueling ecosystem required to fuel the transition to emission-free aviation.
Role
The Project Engineer is an essential member of our team, entrusted with the critical responsibility of ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our aircraft and related components. They oversee and manage diverse engineering tasks associated with aircraft design, development, and production, leveraging their extensive knowledge and expertise to ensure that all project activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements, including those prescribed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Please note, light traveling is required for this role, but flights and lodging accommodations will be covered by ZeroAvia.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and managing project plans and schedules, defining project milestones
- Develop and document the design and specifications of the project, which includes defining project requirements, drafting design documents, drafting reports, and creating technical drawings and schematics
- Ensuring that the project is executed in accordance with the design and specifications
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and other team members, to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget
- Manage all project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials. Ensure that resources are allocated effectively to achieve project goals and objectives
- Perform quality assurance assessments to ensure projects adhere to all quality control standards and regulations
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to ensure that the project is completed successfully
- Accountable for conveying updates on the advancement of the project and any concerns to project stakeholders
- Provide regular status updates and reports to project sponsors, management, and other stakeholders
Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering or a relevant field
- 4+ years industry experience working as a Project Engineer
- Strong Project Management skills, including the ability to develop project plans and schedules, manage project resources and oversee project execution.
- Working experience with Gantt charts and Agile methodologies
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbally
- Exhibit strong leadership skills to efficiently manage and motivate Project Teams to achieve project goals and objectives
- Possess proficient analytical and problem-solving aptitude to recognize and address technical and project management challenges

Pay Transparency Statement
The wage scale or salary range for this position is between $125,000 - $150,000. In addition to the foregoing base compensation, additional compensation and benefits are available to employees and eligible family members (as applicable) including the following:
- Bonus: Annual discretionary bonuses
- Equity: Ability to exercise company stock options
- Retirement: Eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) Plan, with up to a 4% matching
- Health Insurance: Employer covers up to 80% of the employee's monthly premiums on medical, dental, and vision.
- Life Insurance: Basic Life/AD&D of up to $50,000 and the option to add on Supplemental Coverage
- Short Disability: Up to 60% of your earnings for up to a period of 24 weeks
- Long-Term Disability: If your disability extends beyond 180 days, LTD Coverage for up to 60% of your earnings
- Paid Time Off: Eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours per year (15 days) and may borrow up to 40 hours (5 days)
- Sick Time: Eligible employees may accrue up to 40 hours, per year (5 days)
- Paid Holidays: 12 observed holidays, per calendar year
- The Fly Club: up to $2,000 of reimbursement towards flying lessons to all full-time staff
