Procurement Buyer
The Procurement Buyer will aid the procurement of hardware for key programs that support ZeroAvia’s 2025 market entry target. The procurement buyer will assist ZeroAvia’s purchasing and procurement manager, negotiate pricing and delivery times with suppliers and track delivery. The procurement buyer will also assist in receiving, incoming inspection, and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Reach out to establish new and develop existing vendors to create a broad supply base for our certifiable powertrain.
- Draft and prepare quotations, purchase orders, other standard agreements, and approvals in line with internal procedures.
- Analyze Engineering Bills of Material, CAD files, internal quality, and processes, and confirm and communicate requirements to the suppliers.
- Negotiate order quantities and prices with suppliers for fledgling products with shifting deadlines.
- Establish and implement action plans to limit risks and ensure program objectives are met.
- Track supplier progress ensuring on-time delivery.
- Assist with logistics, shipping, import, and export process.
- Support planning and scheduling activities.
- Assisting with the day-to-day procurement activities such as materials, tooling, components, and services.
- Conduct the raising of purchase orders and provide fulfillment activities with suppliers to ensure the products are delivered on time.
- Working closely with the finance team to ensure invoices and bills are paid on time
- Build and maintain relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders such as the engineering and quality team members
- Assist with the creation of new procurement processes and adding item information as an ERP system is implemented
Knowledge, experience, and qualifications
- A high degree of ownership of procurement, the ability to adapt to issues as they arise, and provide solutions.
- Formal qualification, ideally in Engineering, Aerospace, Science, or Business.
- At least 3 years experience in procurement/buyer role in the aerospace industry, with a strong preference for those that have worked in a development, R&D environment.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, proven in working in teams w/ technical and non-technical members and building rapport.
- Flexible approach to work and a high level of drive and ambition to help achieve the organization’s goals.
- A genuine passion for clean technology and the future of carbon-neutral aviation.
- A high level of attention to detail and professional integrity.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks with varying levels of requirements efficiently and effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to understand of Engineering Drawings & technical specifications.
- Experience with ERP and MRP systems as well as with standard Microsoft Office applications with distinct knowledge of Excel.

Pay Transparency Statement
The wage scale or salary range for this position is between $ 70,000 - $90,000. In addition to the foregoing base compensation, additional compensation and benefits are available to employees and eligible family members (as applicable) including the following:
- Bonus: Annual discretionary bonuses.
- Equity: Ability to exercise company stock options
- Retirement: Eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) Plan, with up to a 4% matching
- Health Insurance: Employer covers up to 80% of the employee's monthly premiums on medical, dental, and vision.
- Life Insurance: Basic Life/AD&D of up to $50,000 and the option to add on Supplemental Coverage.
- Short Disability: Up to 60% of your earnings for up to a period of 24 weeks.
- Long-Term Disability: If your disability extends beyond 180 days, LTD Coverage for up to 60% of your earnings.
- Paid Time Off: Eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours per year (15 days) and may borrow up to 40 hours (5 days).
- Sick Time: Eligible employees may accrue up to 40 hours, per year (5 days)
- Paid Holidays: 12 observed holidays, per calendar year.
