We are a team of leaders in science, forestry, policy, and tech, building a cloud-based, data-driven platform to increase the pace and scale of forest restoration and reduce catastrophic wildfire, tree mortality, forest degradation, and deforestation. Our current software modernizes land management planning and monitoring with AI-driven data development, user friendly scenario building and decision support, and forest resilience trends and treatment outcome detection. The system quantifies potential and actual treatment benefits, helping to grow markets for ecosystem services (carbon, water, biodiversity, sustainable forest-derived products).

Our initial platform (launched in September 2021) is focused on temperate, “fire adapted” landscapes in California and the Western US. Our mission is global; our roadmap expands into other geographies and forest types accordingly.

About the Role
Vibrant Planet seeks to hire a self-driven, creative and analytical Marketing Manager to provide strategic and executional leadership to market our SaaS, marketplace solutions and interdisciplinary team to public and private sector partners (government agencies, private landowners, NGOs, tribes and corporations) interested in accelerating forest restoration and protection.

In this role, the Marketing Manager will provide strategic and executional leadership across our marketing channels with a focus on creating content, promoting emerging products, driving new leads and nurturing active accounts.
Responsibilities
Content Creation
- Lead efforts to curate and develop consistent marketing language, collateral and outreach tools to best highlight Vibrant Planet’s competitive advantage

  • Understand and translate Vibrant Planet’s offerings into language, collateral and strategy to drive interest in and uptake of products and services

  • Organize and allocate staff resources to expand our marketing visibility and thought leadership across a variety of channels: Blogs, Podcasts, Op-eds, Social Media, etc.

  • Promote content from Vibrant Planet staff to demonstrate the breadth and depth of our team knowledge and experience

  • Act as the brand team authority on product consistency across markets

  • Work closely with Product, Science and Policy teams to develop and align our content and with the Sales and Customer-facing strategy

  • Develop a high-level creative content plan and communicate the content strategy and direction to Sales and customer-facing teams and potential partners

  • Support a team of internal and external personnel to develop, distribute and promote digital content such as presentations, website/blog, proposals and basic marketing materials

Lead Generation
- Work with revenue and executive team to support development of lead generation strategy for how the company generates demand for our solutions amongst our target audiences

  • Identify outlets for cross-company team members to release written content and materials to establish Vibrant Planet as a thought leader

  • Own website and other digital marketing assets end-to-end, recommend and implement improvements to increase conversions

  • Create and qualify leads through lead-generation initiatives including SEM, SEO, retargeting, content syndication, nurture programs, social media, email campaigns, webinars, trade shows/events and other lead-generating opportunities

  • Manage top of funnel activities through collaboration with sales and maintain data accuracy for accounts, leads and contacts and any marketing campaign-related data and activities

  • Work with the Chief Revenue Officer on the quarterly planning process for the demand generation budget, ensuring that programs are executed and funds are allocated to maximize program ROI and meet sales objectives

  • Optimize marketing automation and lead nurturing processes

  • Manage reports and dashboards to provide visibility in marketing campaign results including inbound channel performance, lead distribution, opportunity stages, pipeline contribution, and ROI

  • Identify, plan and execute industry events, trade shows and conferences to broaden brand awareness and generate leads
    Experience

  • 2+ years of experience working with public sector leaders, elected officials, boards or commissions; preference for experience and/or academic background in natural resources, forestry, climate change, and/or land management

  • 2+ years of experience marketing B2B technology, preferably SaaS, with a strong understanding of design and execution

  • 2+ years of demand generation or online marketing experience across government agencies, corporations, and nonprofits

  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, retargeting, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns

  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and convert

  • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to use data to optimize campaign performance and identify new opportunities

Compensation
Compensation Range: $120,000-$140,000
Competitive compensation, equity, and top notch benefits, determined based on candidate experience.
