Summary of Position
The successful candidate will have a passion for writing, design, and metrics, exceptional project management, attention to detail, and organizational skills. The Marketing Assistant will be a vital support member of the Executive Team (reporting to Grace Fenton, Chief of Staff) responsible for developing various marketing materials and communications, proposal and prequalification submittals, event and conference participation, digital media efforts, and performing other administrative tasks and marketing support.
Responsibilities
This position will perform a range of duties including, but not limited to, the following:
In collaboration with department leads, implement a robust & comprehensive content strategy that supports Nithio company missions and goals
Develop engaging and relevant content to attract and engage the target audience
Track & Manage Socials (Twitter, LinkedIn): Draft copy and collateral in Canva & track in Monday, and post at scheduled times
Track Google Analytics monthlyDraft and publish blogs (in WordPress), e.g., “Why we invested” blogs: including drafting and soliciting feedback from internal and external stakeholders. Publish blogs to the website, socials
Create and manage email marketing campaigns (Mailchimp), including creating templates and drafts and maintaining the subscriber list Implement the team’s proposed website updates (layout, design, content) and make updates when necessary (e.g., adding new team members, copy changes, adding new pages, etc. This does not require coding experience
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and effective digital marketing strategies
Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in digital marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), social media, and emerging technologies, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
Earned or pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
Strong understanding of digital marketing concepts, strategies, and best practices
Proficient in using digital marketing tools and platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tools, and email marketing platforms
Solid knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles and techniques, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and link-building
Experience with WordPress
Ability to create visually appealing marketing collateral in line with Nithio’s brand, including proficiency in Canva and a strong eye for design
Highly entrepreneurial and self-motivatedSuperior problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills with the ability to articulate and present points of view and ideas effectively
Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills
Proven ability to successfully prioritize multiple competing priorities with strong attention to detail and to advance discrete projects both independently and as part of a small team
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively within a distributed team and with multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated interest or previous experience working in Africa or emerging markets is preferred but not required
