Marketing Director, Public-Private Partnerships

Pearl is looking for an experienced and versatile Marketing Director who is hungry to scale a national start up with a passionate team of entrepreneurs. Our company is completely remote - applicants may be located anywhere in the U.S.
Our ideal candidate has experience developing and executing marketing campaigns and thought leadership strategies. S/he will be comfortable with setting long-term strategy, as well as executing day-to-day marketing activities, thriving with tight deadlines, changing needs, and delving into tactics.
The Public Private Partnerships (“P3”) Marketing Director will enhance and execute a thought leadership strategy that positions Pearl as the certification services provider of choice for Inflation Reduction Act residential rebate programs. This person will assist in building brand value for Pearl and our key partners in specific markets by developing regional marketing campaigns and managing their timely and successful execution.The successful candidate will be able to adeptly project manage people, schedules, deliverables, and deadlines.
As the Public-Private Partnerships Marketing Director, you will:
Develop marketing strategies to advance Pearl’s public-private offerings and lead the tactical execution of campaigns from start-to-finish. The P3 marketing strategy will target state energy offices and other appropriate public sector, non-profit, and political actors to influence the development of statewide programs and position Pearl as a thought leader. The Director will develop campaigns in several demonstration markets (states or metro areas) to raise consumer awareness of programs and the Pearl brand within the market area. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Lead all marketing efforts related to our work with states, utilities, municipalities, federal agencies, and nonprofits
- Seek to clearly understand Pearl’s primary value proposition and P3’s products to enhance your ability to create content and strategies to further our goals
- Develop lead generation strategies that support division and enterprise goals
- Conduct market research to identify strategies and budgets needed to reach the addressable market
- Analyze metrics to inform outreach strategies and generate more qualified leads
- Coordinate with other divisional marketing staff on best practices, lessons learned, and opportunities for synergies that facilitate a unified approach across divisions
- Develop customized marketing plans for demonstration projects in conjunction with state agencies, utilities, non-profits, and others to drive awareness of each program utilizing both earned and paid marketing strategies
- Work with partner organizations’ marketing teams to design campaigns that meet the needs of all stakeholders
- Collaborate with partners on paid marketing strategies for promoting regional programs
- Identify earned media opportunities including press release development, media pitches, and coordinating with PR consultants to drive awareness of programs
- Develop market-specific content designed to engage homeowners around products and services offered by partners in the markets
- Develop various marketing collateral including print, exhibit displays, websites, press releases, presentations, blog posts, paid ads, email marketing, webinars, landing pages, digital and multimedia content
- Curate and manage a team of freelancers and marketing consultants (digital team, designers, copy writers and publicists) to develop creative briefs, guide creative direction and project manage campaign aspects across paid media, content development, print production, and event management
What we’re looking for in a Marketing Director:
- Authorization to legally work in the U.S. (Pearl is unable to sponsor employment visas at this time)
- Proficiency in developing thought leadership strategy in the public sector
- Proficiency with multi-channel marketing, including digital marketing, event marketing, earned media, social media marketing, and more
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong business writing and sales copywriting skills
- Ability to collaborate with varying levels of marketing sophistication
- Experience developing, leading, and executing strategic marketing campaigns while managing and collaborating with internal and external teams
- Strong communicator with the ability to present marketing campaigns, tactics and results to B2B customers and executive staff - and gain buy-in
- Ability to take ownership of projects and track deadlines, status updates, and campaign components
- Self-starter with a high-level of urgency that thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to prioritize competing priorities in a swift manner
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and work independently
- Effective at budget management
Please note that Pearl requires employees to be fully vaccinated (and boosted if the appropriate time period has passed) for business travel and in-person meetings; occasional travel is required for this role (about 25%)
Nice to have:
- Previous experience working in a startup environment
- Experience working with government agencies at the state and/or local level
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, HVAC, solar, real estate, or other complementary trade is preferred
- Salesforce/Pardot knowledge
- Basic understanding of Google Drive software (i.e., docs, sheets, folders, etc.), Slack, and Monday.com
- Experience writing and/or scoring proposals in response to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs is preferred

Compensation and Benefits:
- Market salary based on experience and local conditions, in the range of $125k to $145k
