Lawyer
Holy Grail developed a direct air carbon capture technology that converts atmospheric carbon dioxide into giant pyramids. We are looking for proactive candidates who are ready to take ownership and are passionate about creating a sustainable solution to removing excess CO2 from the atmosphere. The ultimate goal of Holy Grail is to contribute to the long-term sustainability of life on Earth.
To support our growth, we are looking for a Lawyer to join our team and help us navigate the legal and regulatory landscape of the industry. The ideal candidate for this role should have a background in environmental law, as well as experience working with startups and emerging technologies.
This role will be located full-time in Mountain View, CA.
Requirements:
• Ability to take ownership of their projects and work independently
• Licensed to practice law in the state where the position is located
• Strong background in environmental law, with a focus on carbon capture and greenhouse gas regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• J.D. degree from an accredited law school
Responsibilities:
• Provide legal counsel on intellectual property, contracts, regulatory compliance, and risk management
• Review and draft contracts, including technology licensing agreements and customer agreements
• Advise on regulatory compliance issues, including emissions reporting and permit requirements
• Develop and implement risk management strategies
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
Nice to have:
• Familiarity with tax incentives and grant programs related to carbon capture
• Experience working with government agencies, such as the EPA or DOE
• Knowledge of international environmental law and regulations
• Experience with litigation and dispute resolution
• Experience working with startups and emerging technologies
• Experience with IRA and tax law, as well as government lobbying
