Head of People
Holy Grail developed a direct air carbon capture technology that converts atmospheric carbon dioxide into giant pyramids. We are looking for proactive candidates who are ready to take ownership and are passionate about creating a sustainable solution to removing excess CO2 from the atmosphere. The ultimate goal of Holy Grail is to contribute to the long-term sustainability of life on Earth.
To support our growth, we’re seeking an experienced Head of People/People Manager to lead our recruitment and retention effort to enable the deployment of our first CO2 capture facility. The ideal candidate has experience in recruitment and developing a retention strategy, as well as strong leadership and people management skills.
This role will be located full-time in Mountain View, CA.
Requirements:
• Experience in human resources or employee recruitment
• Experience with statistical data, drawing conclusions and applying them to HR processes
• Excellent leadership, training and developmental skills
• Strong decision-making, time management and organizational skills
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Expert in federal and state labor laws
• Ability to comprehend technical language and decipher motivated and enthusiastic candidates with the ability to grow into a role
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with an ethical mindset and the ability to act with discretion and confidentiality
Responsibilities:
• Review and optimize the hiring plans
• Actively recruit for open positions
• Schedule interviews and develop evaluation standards in accordance with HR methodologies and labor laws
• Establish policies that promote a safe and enjoyable company culture and vision
• Develop an effective and informative onboarding process and other HR policies
• Create and implement a training and development program, including training managers how to coach, resolve grievances and be an effective leader
• Research compensation standards for attracting and retaining talent to create salary structures
• Implement company-wide goal setting and perform employee reviews, cultivating rising talent within the organization
• Maintain and enhance employee benefits and enhance annual insurance renewal
• Oversee exit interviews and procedures
• Ensure compliance with national and local HR regulations, including conducting of investigations when needed and records retention
Nice to have:
• Experience with recruitment in a startup
• Previous recruitment experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Degree in human resources or related field is a plus
• Experience with HR software
