Job Brief
Twelve is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Director of Procurement to lead our company's purchasing activities. The Director will develop procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure all purchases align with our organization's needs, driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
What you will do:
- Assume overall leadership of our procurement function, overseeing strategic direction and day-to-day activities, including managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
- Lead and oversee all aspects of Twelve's corporate sourcing and procurement operations, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Develop and implement a scalable function encompassing people, systems, and processes to support company growth.
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and pricing
- Support the process to monitor supplier performance and take corrective action when necessary
- Monitor spending, time and cost savings, establish quarterly projections and targets, and drive initiatives to achieve them.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and requirements
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to purchasing activities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, internal customers, and senior leadership
- Manage and mentor purchasing staff and provide leadership and guidance to ensure high performance and productivity.
- Support the Supply Chain team with timely data and appropriate communication.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering or related field
- 10+ years of experience in Procurement. Ideally, the candidate should have prior experience as a leader in a world-class purchasing organization, preferably in heavily regulated industries such as energy, automotive, biotech, aerospace or infrastructure construction.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry trends
- Familiarity with procurement software and tools
- Experience mentoring and developing staff
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 20-40% of the time
