Director of Business Development
Geli provides software and business solutions to design, automate, and manage energy storage systems.
As a member of the Axia by Qcells team, the Director Business Development will drive $60 million of residential annual sales of solar, storage and EV chargers by developing C-level partnerships by leveraging strategic partners, roofing and home improvements companies, EV manufacturers, retailers, etc. This position will be responsible for developing relationships to deliver leads and appointments for our Energy Consultants. This work will include a key role in shaping the new business development strategy for the company. The position plays a key role in building strategic relationships and executing major contracts necessary to support aggressive business growth plans. This position drives the development of partnerships and strategic alliances to deliver profitable sales and customers for Axia by Qcells.
The successful candidate will exhibit a demonstrated knowledge of B2B as well as B2C, to formulate an approach to the myriad partnership opportunities possible in bringing the energy transition to residential customers across the US.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that can build strong relationships with others and can communicate clearly and persuasively. They will have a sales mindset, be highly skilled in business development, lead generation, and thinking outside of the box. The candidate should have an excellent understanding of the evolving energy industry landscape with a focus on distributed energy resources.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement a partnership sales strategy that delivers appointments for our Energy Consultants, and execution of opportunities.
- Build relationships with partners and key decision makers to become a trusted advisor
- Negotiate agreements with channel partners, OEMs, and strategic partners and collaborate with Legal to draft and execute contracts
- Develop and maintains effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external strategic partners
- Translate company financial, risk management, technical and operating goals into effective contracting strategies and objectives
- Develop sales plans and financial forecasts; track and manage actual performance against forecasts
- Provides periodic updates to and interact with senior leadership
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in solar and storage industry
- Proven track record of business development experience
- Entrepreneurial background in a sales and business development capacity
- Can-do personality, competitive and driven
- Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and proactively
- Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skills
- Ability to travel as required – expected travel requirement app. 50-60%.
- High School Grad/GED
- Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
