What we are looking for:
Stem Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain team is seeking a motivated, experienced and result oriented Director, Category Management to lead and implement sourcing strategy for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and subcomponents. This role will be working closely with sales, product marketing and deployment teams to provide expertise, support bid proposals and work with category manager within the department to execute sourcing plan. In a fast-paced environment, effective leadership is critical to ensure business needs are managed and the aligned targets are achieved.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for BESS category strategy and build out capabilities to support business growth
- Provide category expertise, validate and benchmark costs to ensure competitiveness and stay abreast of leading technologies in energy storage industry
- Drive commercial cost reductions and support new project bids from supply chain perspective
- Leverage analytics and insights to drive major commercial negotiation and complete Storage Hardware and long-term services agreements
- Work with functional business owners to support best practices and deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Solve business problems, partner with the business to act on opportunities that drive operational efficiency and risk reduction
- Understand US policy and compliance requirements that could impact supply in Energy Storage and support the mitigation strategies to minimize impact
- Grow and develop supplier relationships to enable partnership and accountability, and lead quarterly business review with strategic suppliers
- Have business mindset to challenge existing processes and suggest new way to optimize these processes and improve procurement efficiency
- Carry out other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Education:
- Good understanding of renewable energy in general
- 15+ years’ experience in Strategic Sourcing and Category Management
- 5+ years of relevant commercial negotiations and contracting experience for battery or other renewable categories in supply chain or business development function preferred
- Leadership experience managing team in a complex and fast paced environment
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with senior management.
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed
- Working knowledge of NetSuite, or Coupa, Ariba E Procurement Tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or Engineering
- Preferred MBA or Masters
