Diesel Mechanic
This position will be part of the Customer Service team that has a direct impact on the success of the company. As a start-up company our expectation is that all employees will roll up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to contribute to the success of the company and this position. This individual is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance repairs on the ClearFlame fleet vehicles to ensure customer safety and satisfaction. This will include, but not limited to Truck Tractors, Trucks and Off-road equipment. The qualifying individual must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, goal-oriented, and must enjoy helping people and the ability to interact/communicate with all levels of the organization and customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble of heavy truck & trailer components; including but limited to; diesel engines, transmissions, axles and any other components or systems
- Communicate constantly with engineering as needed to resolve any issues and report back steps to final resolution.
- Provide support to the engineering team regarding all equipment related issues and repairs
- Provide routine inspections of vehicles and make sure we are operating a safe, efficient truck
- Keep an accurate log of all work performed
- Record materials used in all repairs so replacement parts can be maintained
- Liaise with customers to determine issues they are experiencing with the ClearFlame truck.
- Work to resolve issues while maintaining good communications with the customer.
- Maintain clean garage, equipment, and tools to ensure they are always kept in a safe and usable condition
- Adhere to company work safety policies
- Develop a strategy for managing vehicle costs. Develop methods to decrease costs and improve efficiency

- Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in working on Class 8 vehicles.
- Experience with Cummins Engines and International Trucks a plus
- Valid CDL (License A) highly desired
- Subject to a clean background check and drug test
- Ability to maintain components and tools needed in Chase Truck
- Great organizational skills
- Ability to analyze large sets of data and draw conclusions using Microsoft programs and other software
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of services, Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams, SharePoint
- Excellent professional and courteous communications with customer
- Great knowledge of vehicles
- Ability to work under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to multi-task and work with team members
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Self-motivated, detail oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow
Physical Requirements
- Stooping, kneeling, bending, hands-on working with trucks, tools, engines.
- Periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 75 lb. unassisted at times
- Travel is required for this position
- The position can be based at either our corporate headquarters in Geneva, IL or our testing facility in Columbus, IN
