POSITION OVERVIEW
The Construction Manager will manage utility-scale photovoltaic installation projects at all stages of work. This position reports to a Project Manager, as assigned, or another senior management personnel that the President of the Company may designate. This position may be expected to travel at least 75%, or as needed for the project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and take responsibility for utility-scale photovoltaic installation projects at all stages of work;
- Creating and implementing construction planning schedules;
- Coordinating suppliers and construction companies on site;
- Managing and monitoring building site logistics;
- Assist in the negotiating and awarding of contracts for parts of building work;
- Ensuring that building work (structural and civil engineering) is completed to schedule, within budget, and per code requirements;
- Managing and monitoring subcontractors;
- Handling all processes involving the building authorities up to the project handover;
- Carrying out all building acceptance procedures as well as establishing and following up work to be carried out under guarantee;
- Coordinate overall site safety management and compliance;
- Coordinate installation with internal and 3rd party engineers;
- Collaborate with team members when necessary to ensure effective communication and results; and
- Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned by the Director of Construction.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or another related engineering science
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience managing the construction of major projects, preferably in the building of power stations or supply networks, or other utility-scale construction projects
- Solar PV or wind power project experience, preferred
- Willingness to travel
- Excellent skills in MS Project or comparable project management tool, and possess strong technical aptitude, including knowledge of software development methodologies and processes.
- Strong in Microsoft Office Suite
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Assertive, able to cope with pressure, a team player
The above-listed salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. The salary range shared in the job description is for the listed position and only pertains to the candidate if they work in Irvine, CA. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications. An additional discretionary bonus structure or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
