Commissioning Manager

The Capital Projects Team develops, coordinates, and directs projects for the design, construction and operation of processing plants utilizing Twelve’s proprietary technology.

Job Brief

In this role, you will be integral in developing, managing, and executing all commissioning and maintenance initiatives for Twelve’s e-fuel plant. Successful operation of the plant is paramount to achieving Twelve’s mission to transform CO2 into essential products, including our E-Jet® fuel. You will strategically develop, coordinate and execute all commissioning and operational readiness activities related to the plant commissioning while reporting to the Director of Plant Operations. The role will support facilities maintenance and the strategic development and implementation of the site maintenance execution program.

You will be collaborating with projects, engineering and operations teams within a fluid startup environment. Your impact will be made by directing commissioning strategies and reaching operational readiness followed by development as site Maintenance Manager. We are seeking a candidate with leadership qualities as well as a strong technical and operations background. The right person for this role demonstrates deep knowledge and expertise in commissioning best practices, operational readiness, maintenance execution and believes in Twelve’s corporate mission.

This is an on-site role located in Moses Lake, Washington (with the potential to transition to remote in the future).

What you will do

• Lead the commissioning, operational readiness and start up activities for plant during and after construction.
• Organize efforts between projects, engineering, and operations teams as related to commissioning activities.
• Plan and coordinate resources to include engineering, contractors, third party and OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) as they relate to plant commissioning and future maintenance activities.
• Maintain commissioning and operational readiness documentation.
• Direct and manage the commissioning team through commissioning process and operation readiness plan.
• Ensure that critical safety systems are reviewed, approved and maintained.
• Complete system walk downs, validate operational readiness of mechanical, instrumentation, electrical and piping equipment.
• Complete lessons-learned reports upon the completion of each project.
• Develop and implement Maintenance procedures, plans and execution schedules as related to facility maintenance execution activities.
• Manage day to day maintenance execution activities and a staff consisting of Mechanical and I/E Technicians.

Who you are

• You have a degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical engineering or a related field.
• You have 10+ years of experience in commissioning, maintenance and/or operations of refining or chemical plants and facilities preferred.
• You have a mechanical or chemical background and hydrocarbon skills/knowledge.
• You are knowledgeable in plant commissioning and operational readiness.
• You are knowledgeable in plant maintenance execution.
• You are knowledgeable in:
• Instrumentation and associated control systems
• Electrical systems for power distribution and control (low and high voltage)
• Mechanical systems including installation, operation and maintenance of rotating equipment from small pumps to large compression units; you have excellent leadership, communication and planning skills.
• You have a deep understanding of Safe Work Practices as they relate to commissioning and maintenance execution.
• You are able to travel up to 50% of the time (domestically).
• You are willing to work extended hours, weekends and nights as needed for successful plant commissioning and plant maintenance activities.
• You have led commissioning teams and/or maintenance execution organizations.

• You may participate on the incident and emergency response team(s).
• You are able to:
• Lift a minimum of 40 lbs
• Climb ladders and stairs
• Stand for prolonged periods – including walking, bending, and stooping
• Be comfortable with wearing PPE (personal protective equipment) for extended periods of time, including a respirator
