Brand Marketing and Communications Lead
Our mission is to move humanity off of fossil fuel heating. 20% of US global warming emissions come from homes (that’s more than cars!). The largest driver of home emissions is burning fossil fuels for heat. To stop climate change, over 80M US homes need to transition from combustion to efficient, electric heat pumps over the coming decades.
We believe for this to happen the world needs fantastic products that are easy to purchase. Today's heat pumps lack great design, make limited use of software, and are difficult and stressful to adopt. We are building a next generation, beautifully designed, AI optimized home heating and cooling system that is 10x better than what is on the market today.
Our founders recently left Google, where they had highly successful careers across engineering, design, and product management. We are backed by some of the best climate tech and AI investors in the world.
The Role
Quilt is looking for a creative, driven, customer-obsessed marketer to join our team as our first marketing hire.
We are setting out to build a world-class brand that consumers love. This is an opportunity to be at the start of this journey, to help build a mission-driven premium consumer brand from the ground up. We are looking for someone who is a storyteller and strategist who can drive execution across strategies, both firsthand and with external agencies.
This role can be done hybrid (minimum 3 days a week in-office in redwood city) or full-time in person. We have a strong collaborative office culture, but also recognize that long commutes are tough. We can be flexible as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5-10 years experience in consumer marketing.
- Being a truly excellent communicator. You’ve studied what makes great communications (and communicators) great. You care about details and sweat every word.
- Obsession with customer experience: demonstrated experience and passion for understanding customer segments, mindsets and needs, and supporting the product team in solving their problems.
- Unafraid to get your hands dirty, get things done yourself, and wear many hats.
- Experience working with 0 to 1 new products and launches.
- Ability to develop and execute a brand strategy in a resource-constrained environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build awareness in atypical ways.
- Experience working with partners and agencies.
- Desire to help build a strong, collaborative, high performance culture.
- Genuine mission alignment around climate and decarbonization.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Developing, owning, and executing Quilt’s brand execution strategy for the next phase of our growth.
- Driving a major in-person launch event planned for early 2024.
- Customer waitlist development and nurturing lead conversions via internal content channels.
- Media strategy and managing external comms/PR agencies.
- Establishing and building social media presence on select networks, including influencer engagement.
- Developing web content & SEO strategy.
- Market research and segmenting.
- Interfacing with external creative agencies.
