Associate Development Manager

The Associate Development Manager position is responsible for identification, assessment and execution of potential strategic partnerships, acquisitions and development by the company. The Associate Development Manager reports to the VP of Development or other senior management personnel that the company may designate. This position may also require travel up to25% of the time.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Co-work with Director(s) of Development and/or senior management to identify opportunities for developing Utility Scale Solar, and Energy Storage projects throughout North America;
- Manage interconnection process, land acquisitions, project permitting, and applications;
- Be technically astute with the full life cycle of Utility Solar development, engineering, and construction;
- Acquire and maintain information on market, industry, economic, consumer, and competitive conditions and trends;
- Engage in industry groups to identify new market solutions;
- Work closely with all members of the Development team in the execution of business development projects;
- Establish new opportunities including but not limited to generate new development opportunities for the company;
- Understand land use ordinances and applicable State & Federal regulations;
- Prepare presentations for management and headquarters on project opportunities, project status and fiscal requirements;
- Participates in or leads due diligence of projects, as appropriate; and
- All other duties as assigned by the Head of Development.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a business, engineering, finance related fields
- 3+ years of renewable energy project development based in North America, working on behalf of the owner/developer
- A proven track record, “deal sheet” of projects that you have brought to the table and are now operational
- Successful developer for multiple solar projects
- Solid understanding of energy markets
- Experience on land development/entitlement, permitting and interconnection
- Effective computer software skills including GIS, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Excellent preparation and presentation skills
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time
- A valid driving license and passport
$90,000 - $105,000 a year
The anticipated starting pay range of this position, if it is to be located in Irvine, CA is $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 base salary per year.
The above-listed salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. The salary range shared in the job description is for the listed position and only pertains to the candidate if they work in Irvine, CA. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications. An additional discretionary bonus structure or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
