Accounting Manager
We’re looking for an Accounting Manager to join our Finance team to manage the Company’s accounting. This will be the first hire to bring accounting in house. The majority of responsibilities are working with the parent US entity based in New York City and the minority of responsibilities are managing the accounting and finance functions of our local Israel based subsidiary. Our ideal candidate is an expert in accounting and has held a US based CPA license. This position will be an integral part of the corporate Finance team and will report to the Chief Financial Officer located in New York while having a dotted line to our subsidiary leader in Tel Aviv. A successful Accounting Manager at T-REX is someone who exhibits numerical precision, strong work flow documented processes, and sound business judgment. Over time this position will have the opportunity to bring on a Staff Account and this position’s career track is towards becoming the Controller for our global company.
T-REX operates a hybrid office model where team members have the flexibility to work in the office three days per week and work from home two days per week.
Your primary responsibilities:
● Manage the general ledger of the Company, including:
● Record transactions in our general ledger through multiple sources including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank activity, credit cards, payroll, and other sources.
● Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments.
● Conduct reconciliation of all accounts on an as needed basis
● Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles.
● Interpret and apply accounting standards and policies.
● Prepare monthly and quarterly consolidated financial reports through collection, analysis, and summarization of data through various software systems.
● Assist the Chief Financial Officer in completing all reporting requirements with external stakeholders, including investors, state & country filings, as well as support the external advisors managing the annual Audit and Tax workstreams.
● Manage third party digital platforms that provide data into the general ledger.
● Other ad hoc assignments
Requirements
This role may be right for you if:
● You have 8 to 12 years of accounting experience, including being primarily responsible for a company’s general ledger
● You hold a bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting
● You’re a team player with the ability to work independently and drive processes across the team (startup experience is a plus!)
● You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex topics to people with varying backgrounds.
● You love to build genuine connections with the people you work alongside.
Required skillsets and proficiency:
● Current or prior US-based CPA license
● Expert with QuickBooks Enterprise (Desktop), Bill.com, and related digital connections within the Finance stack. Desired experience with Maxio (SaaSOptics) and Avalara (US sales tax)
● Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition and deferred revenue
● Strong written and verbal communication skill sets in both Hebrew and English
● Extra credit for prior experience in a B2B SaaS company; digital general ledger platforms such as Workday, Sage or NetSuite; and third-party software integration with suggested accounting software
